Story 59. The brave “Kabul Khan” who challenged “Altan Khan (金汗)” of the Jin Dynasty Yekiras, the great-grandfather of Genghis Khan

Story 59. The brave “Kabul Khan” who challenged “Altan Khan (金汗)” of the Jin Dynasty Yekiras, the great-grandfather of Genghis Khan

The sons of “Tummana (Tumbinai), the great-grandfather of Genghis Khan, were Kabul Khan and Shem Setuleh.” The older of these two sons, Kabul Khan, was “the great-grandfather of Genghis Khan, and the Mongols call him ‘Elinchik (額隣觸克, 액린촉극)’. From him came numerous tribes and clans, and his children and grandchildren were called ‘Qiyat’. Kabul Khan is the 16th descendant of Dayabal and the 14th descendant of Qiyan.

Kabul Khan was a contemporary of his father, Tumana Khan, and a person from the era of Kagorida (Agolta, 阿骨打) and his younger brother, Kogorigai (吳乞買).

Kabul Khan married Aruja Khatun, the daughter of Zaigan Khan, the fifth generation descendant of Khaljidai Khan of the Kongrat tribe. From this marriage, Kabul Khan had six sons.

Kabul Khan (1086?~1146?) was the chieftain of the Borjigin clan and the first Khan of the Mongol tribe ,who was crowned by Jin Dynasty. He was the grandfather of Yesugei and the great-grandfather of Genghis Khan. In 1148, he was crowned King of Mongol by Emperor Xizong of the Jin Dynasty. His cousin Ambagai Khan succeeded him.         Borjigin was from the Obok (Mongol surname), the grandson of Baisinor Doksin,          the eldest son of Khan Kaidu of the Kamak Mongols, and the son of Tumbinai Setsen.

He once invaded the Jin Dynasty, but the Jin Dynasty, which had gone on an expedition to the Southern Song Dynasty, was unable to deal with Kabul's army.                           Later, when Emperor Taizong of the Jin Dynasty withdrew, Kabul went to the Jin Dynasty, recognized its sovereignty, and returned.                                                                 Instead of his seven sons, he designated his cousin Ambagai as his successor.           Later, his fourth son, Khutullah Khan, succeeded Ambagai Khan as Khan of the Qamaq Mongols.

When Kabul Khan was dying of illness, Ambagai and the Mongols invited a Tatar sorcerer, but the Tatar sorcerer could not save him from death. Because of this, Kabul's relatives killed the Tatar sorcerer as soon as Kabul Khan died. The Tatars held a grudge against the sorcerer's murder. The Jin rulers saw this death as an opportunity for conflict and confrontation among the nomads.

Episode 1. The meaning of the name “Kabul Khan” is “Kebulyeo Khan,” or “Goguryeo Khan.”

The name of Genghis Khan’s great-grandfather, “Kabul Khan (合不合罕합부합한),” is noteworthy. This is because this name means “Kebulyeo (大扶餘)-Khan (合罕합한=可汗가한).” This title is a combination of the noun “Khan (合罕 합한=可汗가한)” and “Kobulu (高句麗)” of his ancestors’ homeland.

Kabul Khan” declared that he was a descendant of “Kobulu (高句麗)”. It is the same as his descendant and grandson of Genghis Khan, “Kublai”, meaning “Kobulu (Goguryeo)”.

 Episode 2. “Borjigin-ssi”, or “Buyeo-ssi Haeng-ssi”, abandoned and “Qiyat”,      or “Gul-ssi”, restored

Kabul Khan’s children and grandsons abandoned the “Borjigin-ssi” surname that they had used since their 7th-generation ancestor, Bojanjar, and began using “Qiyat (乞氏)” again. This “Kiyat” surname is a pure Goguryeo-Malgal “Keul (=)” as seen in the course of learning about the “Great War of the Tatar Mogol Tribe.”

In Chinese characters, this is the very “Dae” that the first king of Balhae, Dae Jo-yeong, changed his father’s surname, Geolgeoljungsang, into a Chinese character.

In around 1310, when Rashid was writing <Jipsa Tarikh-e Monghul, 集史 History of Mongolia>, the southern Chinese pronunciation of this “Geol (乞氏)” was “Qiyat (Qiyat).”

For this reason, in his <Jipsa Tarikh-e Monghul, 集史 History of Mongolia>,

Rashid wrote the pronunciation of this “Geol” as “Qiyat” at that time. The important fact is that this “Kiyat” surname is the true original surname of the “Khoras Tribe”, which refers to the Alan Kowah family, the mother of all the “Nirun Mongols” of the Chinggis Khan lineage. That is, the sons of Kabul Khan decided to abandon the “Borjigin” surname, which they had started using since the time of their 7th ancestor Bojanjar, namely, the Go family of Later Goguryeo (高氏=弓氏=Bu-ra [夫如, Buyeo] Khan family), and trace their roots back to the “Kiyan ()” surname, the Gul family. Bojanjar was the son of “Maalik Bayaoud Clan = Malgal Buyeo Clan = Go Clan (弓氏, Gung Clan)” in the Secret History of the Mongols, and was described as “the man in the light” in the Secret History of the Mongols and many Western historical books.

Meanwhile, all Mongolian historians and expert professors around the world believe that the meaning of this “Borjigin Clan” is derived from the Mongolian word “gray duck.” And they explained that the meaning is “mallard duck clan.”

Dr. Jeon, the author of “Goguryeo Balhae People - Genghis Khan,” says that this is an absurd and incorrect conclusion.

Dr. Jeon’s argument for this is revealed. They abandoned the surname "Borjigin", which was the official surname that had been used since the 7th ancestor Bojanjar, and decided to use the "Kiyat (Kiyan )" Geol-ssi (乞氏) again. The following is an explanation of the surname "Bojanjar."

In the Mongolian-style Chinese characters, "Bojangsal (寶藏薩)", which is translated as "Bojanjar" in <Saguk-sa Taikh-I Arba' Ulus, 四汗國, Four Khan Countries>, etc., "Bojanjar" became the progenitor of the "Borjigin (夫如氏幸, Buyeo clan)" clan.

There was a clear reason why Bojanjar became the progenitor of the "Borjigin (Buyeo clan)" clan. Because, “Bojanjal (寶藏薩, Bojangsal)” was clearly “Qiyat” of Alan Gowa, or “Geolsi-Geol clan (乞氏)” on his maternal line, but at the same time, he was the son of “Maalik Bayaoud -si(clan)”, or “Malgal Buyeo-si(clan)”, who was expressed as “Man of Light” on his paternal line.

Also, “Malgal Buyeo-si(clan) (靺鞨夫如氏)” was differently the Goguryeo Go-si(clan) (高句麗 高氏) of King Bojang (寶藏王) and the “Cheolwon Gung-si(clan) (鐵原 弓氏)” of his descendant Gung Ye. These surnames were surnames that have “Bor (夫如, Buyeo)” near Cheolwon (鐵原) and Bura (斧壤, Buyang) in Gangwon Province as their hometown. Because, the “Go -si(clan)(高氏)” of “Buyeo Byeoljong (夫餘別種)” Go Jumong (高朱蒙) was, if we express it differently,

like the surname used by his illegitimate son, King Onjo of Baekje, “Buyeo-si(clan)_ (夫餘氏)”, and the hometown of this “Buyeo Clan (夫餘氏)” during the Gung Ye era was exactly Buru (夫如, Buyeo) = Bor”, so it is expressed as a new hometown surname called “Buru (夫如) Clan”, which is the same clan as “Buyeo Clan (夫餘氏)”, and the Buryat dialect of this word is “Bayau-d (夫餘-=夫如-)”, and the Mongolian dialect of this word is Soon, it is "Bor-ji (夫如- Buyeo-ji)".

The man "Maalik Bayaoud-ssi", who is expressed as "the man of light", or "Malgal (Goguryeo) Buyeo-ssi", is a descendant of "Goguryeo Go-ssi(clan) (高句麗 高氏)" of King Bojang (寶藏王), and "Bojanjar", who was born as the son of this person, was given the name "Bojanjar (寶藏薩)", which was the same as the title of King Bojang, meaning that he is a descendant of King Bojang (寶藏王). It is because of this fact that Bojanjar and his descendants began to use the “Go” (高氏) of King Bojang (寶藏王), the surname of their paternal ancestor “Malgal (Goguryeo) Buyeo clan”, instead of the “Qiyat clan” of their maternal ancestor Alan Gowa, or “Geol clan”, and “Bayau-d” (夫如-), which is similar to the “Buyeo clan”, or “Bor-ji (Buyeo clan 夫如-)”, as their and their descendants’ hometown. Because of this, Bojanjar became the founder of a new “Burjigin clan” that distinguished his clan from other Mongol clans.

This official surname “Bor-jigin” is the word “Bor (夫如)-”, but the “-jigin” after it is the word “-si kan (氏 幸, clan 씨 행”, which is the same as “-chino (氏郞, clan leader, clan representative)”. Six generations later, the six sons of Kabul Khan, the great-grandfather of Genghis Khan, and Aruja Khatun of the Kongrat tribe, decided to abandon the “Borjigin clan” established by their seventh-generation ancestor, “Bozanjar,” and to use the “Qiyat clan” of Bozanjar’s mother Alan Gowa’s family, or “Gul clan,” as their own surname.

The Russian emperor is called “Czar (Czar, Tsar, Tzar) or Tsar,” and this etymology comes from Bozan-char (Bozan-jar, Bozan-sal 寶藏-=Bozan-wang, Bozan-wang) ‘-char=sal()=wang(=Khan )’. It is presumed to have originated from.
